think of it this way, Sony's trying to create hype and knowledge of their very expensive and unecessary components (Blu-ray and the Cell). It's all about setting themself apart and above the 360 and Wii. However I believe this is a big waste of resources because NORMAL consumers and the bulk of consumers care about price first, games later. Not performance.
As far as devs crossing over, that's something hard to stop. Because Sony's already digging a huge hole with PS3's negativ...

well all that PS2 and stuff comes to about 80 bucks, right?? Maybe more, I don't know.
so this is only a little bit of money your saving. However this is good move to get people to transition into PS3 without sacrificing their library of games.
I buy used 360 games on ebay than sell them back weeks or months later for around the same price. Only loose about 10 bucks a game, it's a pretty sweet deal.

Here's what happened to me, I bought a very respectable CPU 2 years ago and now it's obsolete with the dual core processors, 2gb ram needed, and (quad/dual sli graphics cards), just to run a game at max speeds. Add all that
up and I ran from PC gaming and never looked back. I bought a 360 at 400 bucks and never been happier with the service.

well there you go, MS was very nice to extend all warranties to cover 2 whole years. And refund the money of already payed ones.
I thought they were with Blu-ray and that, that was one of the reasons people kept bringing up why BR would succeed.
Whatever, either way I'm upscaling DVD's through the 360 vga for the next year or two and using the 360 HD movie feature. And the picture is VERY close in comparison to HD movies.

If the question is, "do I want PC ports or not" The answer is yes, the more the better.
However the couple games I own are not on the PC. Also how many people are willing to spend 1000-2000 dollars on a PC when a 360 will pump out the same, if not better graphics.
Also using the more fair list than IGN only, it's a dead split on 360 exc. in the top 10.

Textures and other aspects of the environment was what I thought really needed work once I saw the pre-alpha pictures. And it's like that for most games.
So I can't wait to see in a few months what the game will turn out to be.
